??? are different rooms hidden in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon or created by King Boo. They are all part of the Paranormal Dimension.
All the normal rooms displayed as ??? are accessible after finding a Secret Door. Inside they contain pocket dimensions with a minigame where Luigi needs to collect Red Coins in a time limit. They are all optional, but the player can gain a lot of Money or even a Gemstone after finishing the minigame successfully.
The boss room in the Treacherous Mansion of the mission "Stop the Knightmare" is also named ???, where Luigi fights the Tough Possessor.
The final boss agains King Boo in the mission "A Nightmare to Remember" also happens in an unfamiliar room which is displayed as ??? in the map of King Boo's Illusion. It seems to be in another world, it contains a arena where the player fights King Boo.
