The Hotel Shops are the 4th floor to be accessed in the game, by defeating Chambrea. It consists of an entrance, some bathrooms, 4 main shops, a coffee shop, a security office, and a lost and found room. The place mainly focuses as a tutorial for Gooigi and many other mechanics, since this is the first floor you can use him without it being previously completed. There are 4 shops, and all of them are blocked off. Only Gooigi can enter through the doors.
Hammers are introduced here, and their intro cutscene involves demonstrating one of Gooigi's weaknesses; water. Mini Goobs are also introduced here, along with strobulb-blocking apparitions. One more feature is also introduced here: Spirit Balls.
While the room where the boss is located may be accessible to Luigi, it takes place in a separate area that only Gooigi can access. All of the cutscenes except the ones involving the boss room are related to Gooigi.
Rooms[]
Elevator Hall[]
The Elevator Hall is the entrance. It has a white wall and beige tiled floors. It heads south and then splits west towards the mall lobby and east towards the restrooms. It has a secret Gooigi spot that he can squeeze through.
Restrooms[]
The Restrooms are a standard set of Womens' and Mens' restroom. They are mostly the same, but they are flipped of each other and have a different color scheme.
The Women's restroom has it's mirror on the left side and the stalls on the right side. It also has a pinkish theme. The Men's has the opposite pairings, where the stalls are on the left and the mirror on the right. The theme is slightly more brown.

Walkthrough[]
Once you exit the Elevator Hall by going to the left, you will enter a short cutscene introducing Kruller and his behavior of being afraid of literally everything. He will then enter the Security Office and drop a Key behind. Continue to walk and then walk up the escalator and then the hallway with the key. Collect it, and Luigi will realize this is the wrong key and also that the symbol is wrong as well. The symbol is a diamond.
Now, enter the Accessories shop, which is 2nd level on the left. It has a diamond symbol on the windows signifying how the diamond key is used there. Once you enter the shop, go to the cash register and enter the key. The next key, the Heart Key, will drop out. However, a Goob then tries (but fails) to scare Gooigi. It grabs the key for itself and then they battle each other. 2 More Goobs join the fight. Once all 3 have been defeated, the heart key will drop from the final goob and Gooigi can leave.
After beating the Goobs, escape from Accessories and enter the Boutique, 1st level on the right. There is some extra Money available. To get the money, there is a dangling ball on a string. Pull it for the northeast corner to retreat and reveal a Goob staring at a mirror. Defeat the Goob and then go into a secret pipe shown through the mirror. Once you collected that, and done anything else, put the heart key in the register. The spade key will come out. Something invisible will then grab it, retreat behind the north wall, and the register will fall over. Behind the register is a Strobulb button. Flash it and 3 showcase sections of the wall will retreat under the floor. Behind that is a huge stack of Coins. Suck up some of the coins for a Mini Goob to pop out. Then tons more will appear. Defeat them to get the Spade Key and then suck up the rest of the coins.
Once you have obtained everything wanted from the Boutique, enter the Gift Shop, 2nd level on the right. Head towards the register and then 5 Spirit Balls will appear out of the floor. They will then go inside the Cash Register and then disappear. In order to bring it back, shine the Dark-Light Device onto the shadow where the register was. A translucent replica will appear and get brighter from the bottom up. Once fully brightened, the spirit balls will come out. Vacuum up all the spirit balls to reveal the cash register again, and put the key into it. The Club Key will then come out. Collect it and then the camera will then zoom onto an ordinary Goob. This Goob soon becomes non-ordinary by putting some sunglasses on. This makes the Goob unaffected by the strobulb and thus cannot be damaged. You must blow the Glasses of by any means. Once done, the Goob is vulnerable and can be defeated normally. More Mini Goobs and another Sunglass-Equipped Goob will appear after the first is defeated. Defeat them all to be able to leave.
Now after completing the Gift Shop, head to the final shop: The Barber Shop. It is located 1st level on the left. However, the metal panels that block Luigi this time are also now vertically oriented, so there are no spaces for Gooigi to enter. In order to fix this, make one of the two vacuum one of the signs, so it starts to spin. Then, deploy or awake the other one. The first one that was vacuuming will continue to vacuum. Then vacuum the other side with the other one. The panels will orient themselves horizontally, so Gooigi can finally squeeze through. Put him through and walk to the register, and then put the Club Key in. The Star Key, which is the last key, will finally come out. Exit the place.
Once Gooigi exits, a small cutscene ensues where a red ghostly arm turns on a sprinkler that sprays a stream of water at Gooigi. He will melt and the Star Key is left in the middle of the puddle. Grab it with Luigi and then head up the escalator. Both sides will start going downwards when Luigi is almost at the top, and then so fast that he slides down. A Hammer will then reveal itself and block all exits. Hammers are incredibly bulky, such that they don't turn before being sucked up and have twice the HP of a goob. So in order to start doing damage, you need to walk to its two tails behind the hammer once it is flashed. Defeating it will allow you to leave. Head up the escalator, through the hallway past the Gift Shop, into the security Office, and battle Kruller. Once you defeat him, head back to the Elevator hall and proceed to 2F - Mezzanine.
Gems[]
![Hotel Shops Gems](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mansionluigi/images/a/af/Hotel_Shops_Gems.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/180?cb=20200914204644)
Each floor of the hotel will have 6 different gems of several colors.
All the gems in the hotel will have a distinctive shape depending on the floor they are located. The ones in the Hotel Shops will be teardrop shaped.
White Gem[]
Going south from the Gift Shop, the player will find a railing. On the left there is a gate that can be opened using the Burst.
Luigi is the only one who can go here, Since the ground is wet and it would melt Gooigi. Going to the right from there will lead to a hidden door on the east, leading to the upper level of the Elevator Hall.
At the end of this path, there will be a chamber with a chest that keeps the gem inside.
Red Gem[]
This gem is located on a secret chamber in the Boutique (Heart Shop).
The only one capable to access this room is Gooigi. Inside there is a mannequin to the left of the entrance, in the west wall. This mannequin will look suspicious, due to the pipes and gears around it.
This mannequin will have a circle on the chest, almost like a diana. Gooigi needs to use the Suction Shot on it to activate the gears that open a fake mirror on the left wall.
Inside there’s a chest with Money and the red gem above, which can be lowered with some suction.
Blue Gem[]
This gem is hidden inside the vending machine in the Hallway to the Security Office.
Don't use the Suction Shot in the vending machine before obtaining the gem!: If you have already done so, you have to go to another floor of the hotel and return to the Hotel Shops again. This will reset the machine, which will no longer be broken.
To get it, the player must use the Strobulb up to six times for the machine to finally deliver the gem. The first time it will give a single Coin, the second one a Bill, The third time a Gold Bar, then a Mouse, the next time five Mouses and lastly the blue gem.
Green Gem[]
Next to the outside entrance of Accessories (Diamond Shop), there is a strange metallic platform on the ground in the left. Using the Dark-Light Device, Luigi can make appear some ladders to an upper level.
Above, if the player goes to the right, they will find at the end a chest with the green gem inside and some Coins.
Purple Gem[]
This gem will be located in the Women's Restroom, but the access to this room is blocked. Gooigi must access this room from the Men's Restroom.
Once Luigi gets to the Men's Restroom, a drain will be visible on the mirror, reflected from the ground, this one is invisible. The player must use the Dark-Light Device to make it appear and position Gooigi on top of it to go to a hidden lower floor.
When Gooigi is there, the player needs to go to the west side to find a red valve, which can be moved using the blow function. This will turn off the water from the Women's Restroom, stopping a leak from the right toilet that is blocking the way, preventing the liquid to dissolve Gooigi later on. Now the player must make Gooigi return with Luigi again.
Now that the water is turned off, in the west wall of the Men's Restroom is a panel that Luigi can open using the Suction Shot. Gooigi can now go through this pipe to arrive into the other Restroom on the west, gaining access to the left toilet of the Women's Restroom with the purple gem in it, and without any water to stop Gooigi.
Yellow Gem[]
This one is located in Accessories (Diamond Shop), exposed behind a glass. Gooigi is the only one that can access this room.
In the middle of the shop there are two suitcases of different sizes. Gooigi must use one of them by picking it up with the Suction Shot to launch it towards where the gem is located and break the glass.
The suitcases will not break no matter how much they are used, so the player doesn't have to worry about losing the opportunity to get the gem in any moment.
Trivia[]
- Out of any area in all the games, this has the most special keys out of any other area with a "whopping" 5 keys.
