Paranormal Productions is the 8th floor in general and the 9th floor to be unlocked in the game, after defeating Dr. Potter. The whole place seems to be the recording studio for probably the entire television broadcasts throughout the hotel. It consists of an entrance to the hub, and from there several sets and an editing room.
The floor also formally introduces teleporting TVs and uses it as a puzzle. TVs are like E-Gates in the game, where Luigi and anything he is carrying goes through the portal and out the other portal. This is useful in that Luigi can't carry anything through doors.
Appearance[]
Paranormal Productions' entrance starts off almost like a cinema hallway, advertising and showing other works of film. Through the main doors is the Backstage, which is the center of the floor and is connected to every other set. There are amps, cameras, film rolls and prop boxes scattering the level. Only some of the set pieces are physically accessible, the other parts can only be walked on when the player records with the camera. The rest of the sets are filled in with blue screen. Each set seems to be based off a certain genre of film. The Horror Set is obviously horror films, the Castle Set is action films, the Fire Set is disaster films, the Micro Set is superhero films and the City Set is 50's monster films.
It's named after either two reasons. One, the company that makes these films is called Paranormal Productions, or two, they don't have a name or it's called something else and Paranormal Productions is just a name given to the general area of the floor.

Walkthrough[]
- Now that we have weeded floor 7 of Luigi's Mansion 3, let's tackle the Paranormal Productions with a series of rather original challenges. To start, go into the first corridor to the locked door and take a look at the television on your left: by flashing it, you will activate it and you will be able to enter it. It will act like a teleport leading you straight to a locker containing the key: use a suction cup to open it, then return to the main door.
- On this floor, the ghost director you will meet has lost his red megaphone. Luigi will give him a helping hand. Take a good look at the 4 TVs surrounding him, they are very important for the future. But first, start by entering the 4 rooms (2 on each side of the main room) to activate each teleport. Each of them will bring you back to the director, but once the four screens are on, we will be able to start looking for the megaphone.
- Take the bucket right next to the director and go to room 1, the one with the well. Once inside, put the bucket in the well, put Gooigi next to it and move Luigi behind the camera. In this scary atmosphere, let Gooigi interact with the well, a entity will bring you back your bucket, filled with water. Your mission here is over, grab the bucket filled with Luigi, pass through the TV with it, then once in the main room, take the screen just to the left.
- Put the bucket on stage, put Gooigi on it too and take the post of director. Before watering the little plant near the destroyed tower, take care of the ghosts who came to war. Don't forget, the shields can be withdrawn with suction cups, and the helmets with the ZL+ZR jump. Once they are out of harm's way, water the magic bean and climb to the top of the tower to recover the extinguished torch. Take it with Luigi and get out of that screen.
- Take the next screen with the torch off at the end of your vacuum cleaner and repeat the same process: place it on stage with Gooigi, go behind the camera and observe the flaming city landscape through the lens. Firefighter ghosts are coming in to try to melt you down. Be careful, the fight can quickly turn sour, so grab one quickly and throw it at as many of his colleagues as you can to immobilize them and chain them up. Once the fight is won, light the torch with a burning building nearby and exit through the TV. Then, go to the last screen.
- Fourth and last scene to film. Film Gooigi open the cardboard with a suction cup, then take the lit torch to burn the giant spider and the web retaining the megaphone. Swallow it with Luigi and give it back to the director: when he examines your profile, he will realize that you would make a great actor and he wants you in his next film.
Floor 8: Paranormal Productions, Morty's movie[]
- Morty, the director, will make you revisit a great classic of Japanese cinema, with a ghostly remake of Godzilla! Once in the arena, a plastic monster will attack you with large fireballs. Dodge the little red balls, blow on the big blue ones until it returns to its sender. During the second phase, always dodge the little balls, but once the huge green one is thrown, get Gooigi to help you. Third and last phase, repeat the same thing, except a small QTE that require you to mash A to conclude the fight. Once Godzilla is down, swallow the basic ghost into your vacuum cleaner. The director will thank you with the elevator button for floor 9.
Gems[]
Each floor of the hotel will have 6 different gems of several colors.
All the gems in the hotel will have a distinctive shape depending on the floor they are located. The ones in Paranormal Productions will be shaped like film reels.
White Gem[]
In the northeast of the Studio 3: Fire Set is a bicycle with a strange object hidden under a white cloth. Luigi simply must vacuum the item to reveal a Gem Goob.
Red Gem[]
At the southwest of the Studio Entrance, the player will find a pot with a small palm tree. This one can break with the Suction Shot.
Once out of the way, Luigi can turn the corner of the carpet where the plant was placed with the Poltergust G-00. Below the carpet, a star-shaped tile will be revealed, much like those found on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which will rise to reveal a compartment with the gem. This mechanism will also scare poor Luigi.
Blue Gem[]
This gem is on the Backstage, in the rafters above. Luigi needs to go to the orange lift in the northwest side of the room and stay on top while Gooigi raise him by turning the wheel on it.
Luigi will find the gem frozen in a block of ice at the right side of the rafter, which needs to be melted. There are two ways to do this:
- This is the more obvious option but it's also a missable event: The ice can be melted at the Studio 3: Fire Set, but this only works if the cameras still work, simply making Luigi get closer to the fire while Gooigi handle the camera.
- If the first option cannot be done, the player can only do this one instead: Luigi needs to obtain the burning torch from the Studio 2: Castle Set and put together both this and the ice to melt it.
Green Gem[]
The gem is easy to see in the large bottle next to the cardboard box from the Studio 4: Micro Set. Gooigi can enter the bottle from the open nozzle to grab the green gem.
Purple Gem[]
Right after exiting the elevator, in the Elevator Hall itself, the player will easily see a red helicopter on the left side of the room. Luigi must use the Poltergust G-00 to rotate the propellers, this will make the helicopter descend and eventually open a door to drop the gem.
Yellow Gem[]
In the Studio Entrance, there's a gold film reel in front of the reception desk with a string attached. Luigi can pull on it with the Poltergust G-00 to activate a mechanism for the big statue of the film projector on the north wall, which will activate.
The projector will rise to reveal the yellow gem behind and let it fall behind the front desk. To get there, Gooigi must sneak through the barrier on the left of the reception.

Trivia[]
- This is the only floor to not feature the main ghost as the boss. The main boss is just a Goob dressed as Ghostzilla.
- Ghostzilla is obviously a parody of Godzilla.
- In the Entrance Hall, the posters that are on display are references or mentions to other games that the developers Next Level Games have previously worked on. Such games include Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Mario Strikers Charged and Punch Out!!
- In Studio 4: Micro Set, the music that plays when the camera is recording is a remake of the Grouchy Possessor boss fight from Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.
- The prop that emerges from the well in Studio 1: Horror Set, is a reference to the 2002 horror film The Ring.
