Achievements are a feature in Luigi's Mansion (3DS) and Luigi's Mansion 3 that are unlocked by doing a specific set of actions or unlocking and obtaining a certain set of items or capturing ghosts.
Luigi's Mansion (3DS)[]
Achievements are introduced for the first time in Luigi's Mansion (3DS), a new addition to the game that was not available in the original Luigi's Mansion for the Nintendo GameCube. Unlike the achievements of Luigi's Mansion 3, none of them require to be done in multiplayer, so a single player can complete the game 100%.
The player can see the achievements completed and to complete in any moment through the Options on the pause menu or by interacting with the statue in the Gallery, located next to the stairs on the east.
These achievements are also shared throughout all playthroughs within the same file, so the player can do them during any playthrough if something is missed. There are some achievements that require more than one playthrough in the same file, being impossible to obtain only in the first one.
List of achievements[]
The achievements will be divided into five categories in the game depending on their difficulty, these being Beginner, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Master. All of them with have nine achievements each, making a total of 45 achievements in the game.
These will appear in order from easiest to hardest to the player. A new section will not appear until all the achievements of the current one are cleared, but once the next one is unlocked, this one will already count the achievements that the player has already managed to perform before seeing the list, so the player doesn't have to worry about having to complete the achievements again for every category.
The statue of the Gallery will only have the stand at first. As the player completes each level of difficulty, statues of different ghosts in the game will be added to the stand until there are five of them, a Gold Ghost, a Garbage Can Ghost, a Purple Puncher, a Blue Twirler and a Grabbing Ghost. Completing all achievements in the game turns all the statues from silver with yellow eyes to gold with green eyes.
Beginner[]
After completing this category, the first statue of a Gold Ghost will be added to the stand.

Luigi's Mansion 3[]
The achievements will be divided in three Categories: Collection (of which there are 23), Hotel (of which there are 17), Battle (of which there are 7), and ScareScraper (of which there are 6). The list of achievements can be consulted via Lab or Virtual Boo, by talking to Professor Elvin Gadd, and by checking the Log. The game tracks down the player's progress of each achievement.
Unlike Luigi's Mansion (3DS), completing certain achievements will award Luigi certain Poltergust G-00 upgrades. Capturing all the Boos will award him the Flashlight Type-B. Collecting all the Gems will grant him the Suction Shot Type-C. And collecting every achievement will award him the Poltergust Type-G.
Some achievements are exclusive to the ScareScraper Mode, and require at least one player to wear one of the DLC Costumes, since they will make Rare Ghosts appear.
