The Basement is a floor found in Luigi's Mansion 3 and is the third floor visited in the story. It consists of a single hallway that leads to a staircase and has two rooms that branch off. The boss fought here is Steward.

This floor is the first floor to be encountered after the end of the prologue.

Rooms[]

Laundry Room[]

The Laundry Room is a room found in the The Last Resort. It is the first room encountered in the Basement.

Appearance[]

The Laundry Room consists of two areas divided by a partial wall in the middle. The west room is defined by the laundry shoot in the back corner and the washing machines towards the north. The east room is defined by dryers towards the north.

Garage[]

The Garage is the largest room in the Basement.

Appearance[]

It consists of a large parking space with a couple of cars parked in spaces. One car is half parked in and stands out from the rest, which is presumably E. Gadd's car. If you rescued E. Gadd, to next to it is E. Gadd's lab and next to that is another car. Steward's Boss Fight takes place here. At the very right is a secret entrance to the Elevator Shaft.

Service Hallway[]

The Service hallway is the hub room for the basement.

Appearance[]

It starts at the laundry room and goes directly east towards the Service Stairwell. It also gains a little bit larger area at that end as an entrance from the Elevator. Along the thin path, there are some paintings.

New Ghosts[]

  • Boosement (Boo)

Boo Location[]

This floor's Boo is Boosment. He is located in the Laundry Room, in the middle of the 3 washing machines left of the semi wall. He is served as a tutorial for Gooigi's boo-detecting capabilities and is required. When he is found and the battle ensues, a dim fog surrounds the floor.

Walkthrough[]

After Prologue[]

Laundry Room[]

Polterpup licks Luigi until he wakes up. He will then guide him to the Poltergust G-00. As Luigi passes, a stack of towels fall, a pipe starts shooting steam, 3 dryer machines turn on, and last, Polterpup appearing out from the sink, all scaring him.

Service Hallway[]

Polterpup is seen digging in a trash bin. Once he stops, 2 doughnuts get stuck on him. He shakes them off, then guides Luigi to the garage.

Garage[]

Polterpup leads him to Professor E. Gadd's car. Once he comes near, Polterpup then jump scares him, causing him to fall. Polterpup shoves him to his feet. Luigi then grabs the Poltergust G-00 and then practices with Polterpup. After that, Polterpup then goes up to 1F - Grand Lobby.

Service Hallway (2)[]

Luigi will go all the way to the right. Shine your Strobulb (A) at the door leading to the Service Stairwell.

Service Stairwall[]

As Luigi goes up, a giant object blocks the way. Use Burst (ZL + ZR) to get past, leading to 1F - Grand Lobby.

See here to continue walkthrough.

After Finding E. Gadd[]

Service Hallway[]

Luigi will head to the garage. A painting will fall along the way, making E. Gadd laugh at him.

Garage[]

Luigi heads to E. Gadd's car. E. Gadd grabs a dome like object. Luigi try's to touch it but E. Gadd pulls it away. He places it down on the ground and it folds into what he calls, a portable laboratory. After getting the Virtual Boo (VB) and Elevator Tracker, Luigi will go back to the elevator. After setting it up, Luigi tests VB's communication systems. Once that is done, he will go to 5F - RIP Suites.

Gems[]

Basement Gems

Each floor of the hotel will have 6 different gems of several colors.

All the gems in the hotel will have a distinctive shape depending on the floor they are located. The ones in the Basement will be square cushion shaped.

White Gem[]

In the Garage will be a light blue car on the right side of the lab (if the lab has already been unlocked), covered with a white tarp. After using the Poltergust G-00 to suck up the sheet off the hooded car, Luigi can flash the green light with the Strobulb to pop open the trunk, revealing the gem.

This is the first available gem that the player can obtain in the game, not needing any new function from the Poltergust G-00.

Red Gem[]

5F must be beaten in order to obtain this gem.

In the far left wall of the Garage, the player will find several stairs leading to a higher chamber with a chest and a fence.

Gooigi must walk through the chain-link fence, pop open the electrical box on the left with the Suction Shot and then flash the green receptor, now revealed with the Strobulb, to access the gem.

Blue Gem[]

5F must be beaten in order to obtain this gem.

There is a metal cover on the far right of the Garage, besides the red car of Professor Elvin Gadd, that Luigi can pull off with the Suction Shot to reveal a tunnel that leads into the Elevator Shaft.

Luigi must climb the right ladder to the top of the shaft and go to the far left, then have Gooigi drop down through the grate on the ground and get the gem below.

Green Gem[]

Steward must be beaten in order to obtain this gem.

In the Laundry Room, the player will see the green gem on the middle dryer. Luigi can use the Suction Shot to pull the cover off it and then grab the gem.

Purple Gem[]

E. Gadd must be rescued in order to obtain this Gem.

In the Service Hallway, at the east of the Garage door, there is a painting with the gem trapped. Luigi has to use the Dark-Light Device to obtain it.

Yellow Gem[]

5F must be completed in order to obtain this Gem.

At the upper part of the Service Stairwell the player will find a rack on the ground near the door to the 1F - Grand Lobby. Gooigi must ooze through the bars on the floor at the top of the stairs to get to the gem.
