Bananas are items found in the Luigi's Mansion series.
In Luigi's Mansion[]
Bananas can be thrown by Garbage Can Ghosts. It can be first found by Luigi during the Area 1, in the Wardrobe Room, where Luigi also meets the Garbage Can Ghost for the first time.
Before the green ghost uses the attack, he first eats the fruit, then throws it into the air falling in the floor, now becoming a dangerous object for the player. The Garbage Can ghost holds 4 bananas while throwing another. The ghost has an infinite amount of Bananas, so he can keep attacking until he has been sucked up by the Poltergust.
If Luigi slips in one of them, he loses 10 HP and some Money on the ground, but the object can be easily removed by using the vacuum of the Poltergust 3000. When Luigi slips on the fruit, he makes a "WOAH" sound. After he slips, he gets up and goes back into the action.
In Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon[]
Bananas now serve as various items which can be thrown by Hiders and Strong Hiders. Unlike other objects they can throw, bananas will stay in one place after they've thrown it. The bananas can damage Luigi for 10 HP upon being thrown at him. However, if Luigi approaches one on the ground, he'll only slip over it and not take damage, but leaves him briefly vulnerable to other ghosts' attacks if nearby.
