The Beetle Whisperer (known as Scarab Nabber in European and Australian releases) is one of the many types of boss ghosts encountered in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon's ScareScraper.
Physical appearance[]
The Beetle Whisperer is identical to a Slammer, but with lime-yellow features instead of dark red and is much larger in size. There are several different variations of the Beetle Whisperer, but they all attack the same.
In Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon[]
The Beetle Whisperer is a ScareScraper-exclusive boss. He may be randomly fought on every fifth floor.
Beetle Whisperers and their variants attack exactly just like regular Slammers; if the player gets too close to them, they can create a red shockwave by clapping their hands, dealing 20 damage. When stunned by the Strobulb and being vacuumed up, the Beetle Whisperer and their variants will have a paranormal shield of any color which must be broken by the same color of the A-Pull meter or higher, though for red paranormal shields, any of the Luigis must get fill up the meter. Once the shield is broken, several beetles will appear, and will deal 5 damage if any Luigis come in contact with them, disrupting the Luigis capturing the Beetle Whisperer or their variants. If this happens, the Luigis must break the Beetle Whisperer's shield once again.
When he or one of his variants are fought, he will be supported by either regular Greenies and Strong Greenies, or ones equipped with swords and shields.
Strategies and tips[]
How to deal with the Beetle Whisperer successfully is not an easy task to make, and depends on how many Luigis there are, or what room the boss is fought in. With a full team, here's some good tips to use. Two of the Luigis should focus on breaking the Slammer's paranormal shield and depleting his health, while the other two Luigis should focus on destroying beetles and dealing with support ghosts (Greenies and Strong Greenies).
Non-canonical appearances[]
Luigi's Mansion Arcade[]
While the Beetle Whisperer does not make an appearance in Luigi's Mansion Arcade, all its variants do, and some variants are selected randomly to appear only in the Treacherous Mansion. The Beetle Whisperer's variants are now the same size as regular Slammers, have 25 HP and cannot summon Beetles nor use paranormal shields upon being vacuumed up.
