The Burst has the Poltergust G-00 send its fans into overdrive for a short while, blowing out enough air to cause Luigi to 'jump' and to blow away objects or ghosts.

Burst is mostly used for defence during combat by blowing away ghosts, or jumping to avoid a shockwave or laser. It is essential for defeating certain Boss Ghosts. The burst can also be used to force Oozers to come out of their hiding space by using burst while near them. This is quicker than checking normally, and it stuns them.
