Captain Fishook is a character from Luigi's Mansion 3. He makes his home on 12F - The Spectral Catch in which he lies in the water. He appears to be the captain of 12F's ship. Luigi fights him for the button of 13F - Fitness Center, and to rescue a Toad on top of his ship.
Information[]
Physical description[]
Captain Fishook is a ghostly Pirate-Shark, more specifically a Great White Shark. He has 1 set of teeth (unlike actual Great Whites), with one being a gold tooth. He has a white underbelly, and while it does appear to be blue, this is only a result of the blue sky, and as Captain Fishook is a ghost, he is transparent. His right pectoral fin is replaced by a hook, and he has an eyepatch, which contains an elevator button. His other eye is red. Captain Fishook's main body is a shade of blue, and he lacks the characteristic dorsal fin that most sharks have, with it instead being long and snake-like.
Powers, equipment and abilities[]
Swimming: Captain Fishook is a shark and is therefore, good at swimming.
Possession: Captain Fishook is shown to possess the ship twice in his boss fight in a manner similar to the Shrewd Possessor.
Hook Swing: Captain Fishook can swing his hook at Luigi, dealing 20 HP of damage if successful.
Eating: Captain Fishook is shown to swim around in the floor while attempting to eat Luigi, in a similar way to how a Tiger Shark would feast on a deceased Whale. If successful, it deals 20 HP of damage to Luigi.
Eye patch: Captain Fishook has an eyepatch, which protects him from the Strobulb.
Personality traits[]
Captain Fishook is a fierce pirate. He has a fearsome, aggressive and temperamental personality, like how sharks are stereotypically (but not accurately) depicted.
History[]
Battle[]
Phases 1 and 3[]
During his entrance, Captain Fishook roars before diving into the deck floor. When this happens, the boss will transform into a giant wooden mouth with eyes that moves across the floor.
If Luigi gets caught by Fishook, he will fall in and take damage. Luigi can use his Poltergust G-00 to grab a bomb and fire it into the hole. After it swallows a few bombs, it collapses in on itself, and Captain Fishook bursts out of the floor revealing his true form and triggering his second or fourth phase.
Phases 2 and 4[]
Although the captain is exposed, he cannot be stunned, using his eyepatch to block it. He swipes his hook across a couple of times, and then charges up and spins into the deck, getting stuck and vulnerable. While the player captures him, he automatically frees himself when his HP reaches 200 or 100 for phases 2 and 4 respectively, triggering the next phase. If he gets slammed below that HP, it will still show 200 or 100.
Phase 5[]
Phase 5 is quite different from the other odd-numbered phases. Captain Fishook gets mad and possesses the wall in the back. He then tilts the entire ship, forcing Luigi to use his plunger to hold onto a target board, lest he falls into Fishook's mouth. Regardless if Luigi gets eaten or not, Fishook puts the ship back into its normal position and Luigi then has to throw more bombs into his mouth when it is open.
Then, he tilts the ship a second time, with the board quickly moving until hit with a suction shot. Throwing more bombs into Fishook's mouth, he eventually explodes, gets shot from the wall, and tumbles past the deck. After slowly floating towards the deck and coughing for quite a while, the final phase begins.
Final Phase[]
Phase 6 is similar to phases 2 and 4, except Captain Fishook uses his hook swing more, and gains an attack where he digs into the ground and chomps towards Luigi, forcing the player to burst over him. Dealing another 100 damage will defeat him, allowing players to gain the button to 13F and rescue Yellow Toad.
