Chef Soulfflé is the boss of the Mezzanine in Luigi's Mansion 3, who is fought in the Kitchen by Luigi. He is encountered on the second floor and has the fourth floor's elevator button in his possession.
History
Chef Soulfflé first appears after Luigi uses his Poltergust G-00 to clear the room of the smoke. Chef Soulfflé may have made this smoke as he was making his food. Upon seeing Luigi inside his kitchen, Chef Soulfflé drops his fish and attacks.
Battle
Chef Soulfflé attacks by swinging his pan, which causes damage. Luigi must use his vacuum to tear the cook's frying pan out of his hands, as it protects him from the Strobulb. Chef Soulfflé also tosses fishes that can be used to stun him, allowing the green clad hero to flash and capture the ghost. Chef Soulfflé has 350 HP. Upon defeat, Chef Soulfflé drops the fourth floor's elevator button. However, a rogue mouse gets its hands on the button, so Luigi has to chase it.
Aftermath
Chef Soulfflé is sent to the Gallery for the remainder of the adventure.
Physical description
Chef Soulfflé appears as a slightly overweight ghost. He has medium brown skin, a brown mustache and wears a chef outfit, with the shirt having golden yellow details. Chef Soulfflé also has cyan eyes and mouth.
Personality traits
Chef Soulfflé is a high-strung chef who is very passionate about cooking, but, considering the large amount of smoke in the room when Luigi first encounters him, probably isn't very good at it. He has a short temper, and is shown to get angry or upset rather easily.

Behind the scenes
Etymology
His name is a pun between the word "Soul" and "Soufflé", a French dish. Soufflé is also the French word for blow, this may be a reference to how the player have to blow/suck up all of the smoke before battling him or how Luigi needs to use the blow of the Poltergust G-00 to hit him with different objects.
Trivia
- Chef Soulfflé does not spawn until the 2F button is collected.
- This is because the player can simply slam the wet floor sign blocking 2F's right side and access it before beating Kruller, so in order to prevent a sequence break, they force the player to beat Kruller first.
- Chef Soulfflé swinging his pan around in an attempt to hit Luigi is similar to how armed and shielded Greenies attack Luigi in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.
- An identical scenario also happens with the Greenies with kitchen utensils fought in the Kitchen of the Gloomy Manor.
