Director Morty is a character from Luigi's Mansion 3. He is found in Paranormal Productions, as befits his role as a film director and movie maker. Luigi meets him on the eighth floor.
Appearance[]
Director Morty is a thin blue ghost. He wears a dark blue turtleneck sweater and a director's beret.
Personality[]
Director Morty is a lawful neutral character. He loves his job as a movie maker. His role in the game is more neutral, as Luigi does not have to fight him. Instead, the true boss is Ghostzilla.
Morty is very passionate and rather pushy as he doesn't give Luigi much of a choice in starring in his film. He has an eye for potential talent, and is extremely dramatic after losing his megaphone.
Despite this, he is not at all aggressive and show gratitude toward Luigi for helping him.
In Luigi's Mansion 3[]
Luigi will find Director Morty weeping in sorrow, stating that he has lost his red megaphone. Director Morty will also reveal that he possesses an Elevator Button. Luigi decides to help Morty in order to get the Elevator Button. Until he retrieves the megaphone, Morty always leans away if Luigi approaches him.
When Luigi retrieves the megaphone, Director Morty notices Luigi and asks if him if he could be the star of the movie. Director Morty then calls for the scene to be recorded. Luigi and the Ghostzilla will fight. Once Luigi is done with his assignment, Director Morty gives Luigi the Elevator Button he had. He then proceeds to go and edit his film.
Luigi then has the option of entering the room where Morty is editing the film and capturing him. However, if Luigi captures Morty before he is finished editing, the movie will never be completed, therefore making it unable to be watched.
If Luigi chooses not to capture Morty, he may return at a later time to find Morty relaxing in satisfaction at his movie being complete. Luigi then has the option of watching Morty's movie. After the movie is complete, Luigi can then choose to capture Morty while he is relaxing, though it is still unnecessary for beating the game.
Trivia[]
- The way Director Morty is kind to Luigi rather than malicious like the others makes him the third ghost to not be a threat to him since the beginning. Madame Clairvoya is the first one, who appeared in the first game, and the second being Polterpup in the second game.
- Other than Polterpup, Director Morty is the only other friendly ghost that Luigi will encounter in The Last Resort Hotel.
- Morty also seems to not be under King Boo's control unlike the other ghosts in the hotel, as he shows no maliciousness and he willingly gives Luigi the elevator button as thanks for starring in his film.
- If the player doesn't catch him before trapping Polterkitty, he will finish the movie, and it will be possible to watch it completely.
- If he is flashed after finishing the movie, he will smile.
- He is the only boss ghost in Luigi's Mansion 3 that is not necessary to catch, since he gives the elevator button to Luigi after his help.
- However, he's also the only one that has an achievement after his capture, making him only necessary to completionists and to have a full Gallery.
- If the player decides to catch him, he won't show signs of fighting back in any moment, even if the player stops the capture.
- Luigi will show regret after his capture.
- It is unknown what happens to Morty if Luigi chooses to never capture him.
- Morty is the second boss who can't deal damage to Luigi, the first being Kruller.
- He is the boss ghost with the lowest health, 25 to be exact, making it impossible to slam him with the Poltergust G-00.
- He is the first boss to have less health than Luigi, the second being Polterkitty in the first meeting and the third Johnny Deepend.
