This article is about type of medallion. For information about the kind of ghosts, see here.
Elemental Medals (or just Element Medals, as named in the game) are 3 special medallions found by Luigi in Luigi's Mansion. They give the Poltergust 3000 the ability to absorb and cast elemental spirits. The elements form a triangular relationship: fire melts ice, ice freezes water, and water extinguishes fire. Oddly enough, the ice element seems to be the only element to affect Boos, as demonstrated in Luigi's battle against Boolossus. The other elements are used to defeat ghosts of the opposite element.
Locations[]
Here are the medallions' locations:
- The Fire Elemental Medal is found in the 1F (first floor) Mirror Room.
- The Ice Elemental Medal is found in the 2F (second floor) Tea Room.
- The Water Elemental Medal is found in the 1F (first floor) Kitchen.
Trivia[]
- If one is to use Ice on anything that has water in the mansion, it'll freeze the water and prevent any water Elemental Ghosts from appearing.
- Same can be said for Water, if used on anything that expels fire, the flame will be taken out and prevent Fire Elemental Ghosts from spawning.
- It is, however, possible to reignite a flaming source such as torches if the player sucks up its ghost after taking out the source.
- However, it seems that Fire can't thaw anything that is frozen. The only exception being Sir Weston as you have to use fire to melt the ice block he was encased in.
- Following the elemental triangular relationship, some elements can make an opposing elemental ghost disappear. Shooting fire can get rid of Ice Elemental Ghosts, Water getting rid of Fire, and Ice getting rid of Water.
- Same can be said for Water, if used on anything that expels fire, the flame will be taken out and prevent Fire Elemental Ghosts from spawning.
