The Fishing Hut is a room of the Secret Mine in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.
Appearance[]
The hut is a medium-sized wooden shack with an icy floor covered in snow on entrance, with wooden planks surrounding all sides but the entrance a step higher than the floor. There are 3 fishing rods with bait attached at the end of the side planks. Another without bait rests on the right wall, while a giant fish rests on the left. There is also a bucket of fish at the southwest corner.
Story[]

Blue Toad being rescued.
This room is mainly used for the mission Cold Case, when Luigi is looking for the Blue Toad. After exploring the Chalet and not finding the Toad there, Luigi heads over to the Fishing Hut. Luigi can peek in to see a Boo (most likely Boofoon) covering a painting with Spirit Balls, although this is optional. Entering, Luigi must vacuum the snow on the ground to proceed, only discover a Toad trapped in a painting in the reflection while there is no painting there. He must use the Dark-Light Device at the far wall in order to reveal the painting, then again to free the Toad.
Upon freedom, the Toad falls down and cracks the floor. He then discovers that Luigi saved him and jumps with joy, causing the crack to become bigger. Although Luigi says no while shakes his own hand accordingly, Toad still continues to jump around, then realizing that the ice beneath them is about to crack, and Luigi and Toad fall into Under the Ice.
The Triangle Sapphire gem is also located here. In order to get it, Luigi must vacuum a pile of snow out of sight under a floorboard on the left side.
During Severe Infestation, the Fishing Hut may be one of the rooms infested with ghosts.
Trivia[]
- It can be assumed that a person lived here before the mining operation, as they likely used the fishing hut for food.
- Additionally, it can be assumed that there once was an underground lake, as the fishing hut could not be used anywhere else while there are bones and giant fish beneath it.
- The fish seen here seem to eat other fish of its kind and vary in size, as the bait are smaller versions of the fish in the bucket and hanging on the wall.
