The Flashlight (or Torch in the PAL version) is an object and game mechanic in Luigi's Mansion, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Luigi's Mansion 3, used for stunning Ghosts.
Luigi's Mansion[]
It is usually activated with B in the GameCube Controller. While pressing A in the remake will deactivate the flashlight. The flashlight will stun ghosts when they are showing their heart. Once the heart is shown, they will be stunned with the flashlight. The only ghosts that are not stunned by the flashlight are Boo's (including King Boo and Boolossus), but they are stunned by light in the cleared room.
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon[]
In Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, the flashlight was replaced by the Strobulb, a attachment that you get in the first mission. You will need a green bulb to activate it. The flashlight is also a function on the Poltergust 5000, but it is only used as a typical flashlight instead of a spirit-stunner.
Luigi's Mansion 3[]
In Luigi's Mansion 3, the flashlight is a function on the Poltergust G-00, like in the previous game. The flashlight's original use of stunning ghosts is still non-existent, as it is now replaced by a Strobulb.
