Footbrawl (known as American Footbrawl in British English versions) is a variant of the Beetle Whisperer appearing in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moons ScareScraper, and later returning in Luigi's Mansion Arcade.

Information[]

Physical description[]

Footbrawl is a large Slammer that wears a large gray helmet on his head, with a large red stripe and two white stripes in the center of the helmet, and features a red design on the sides of it. This makes Footbrawl based on the sport, American football.

Powers and abilities[]

Footbrawl has all of the powers and abilities as the Beetle Whisperer. He can summon Beetles upon being vacuumed, and utilizes paranormal shields of any color. He can also create red shockwaves by clapping his hands, just like regular Slammers and other variants.

Etymology[]

Footbrawls name is a fusion between the words, football and brawl, with brawl replacing ball'. His British English name, American Footbrawl, helps support his name's reference to the sport, american football.

Strategy[]

The strategy to capture Footbrawl remains the same as fighting the Beetle Whisperer.

On Normal/Hard ScareScrapers, 1-2 Luigis should focus on vacuuming the Slammer, whilst the other Luigi(s) should focus on destroying beetles and capturing normal or sword and shield variants of Greenies and Strong Greenies, Footbrawl's support ghosts. For the Luigi(s) vacuuming Footbrawl, remember to jump before being hit by a beetle or Greenies/Strong Greenies.

On Expert/Endless ScareScrapers and with a full or near-full group, all Luigis should work together and focus on depleting the Slammer's health, though some can break off the Slammer and clear up some beetles and Greenies/Strong Greenies, but then starting vacuuming up Footbrawl after they are finished for now.

If one Luigi goes the ScareScraper alone, regardless of difficulty, these are the tips to follow. Try and break the shield first, then clear up some of the beetles and Greenies/Strong Greenies before depleting the Slammer's health. Always remember to jump and try and let the Slammer pull Luigi for a bit to clear some gaps, but not too long or else he'll trip and lose health.

By following these tips, Footbrawl should be captured successfully in no time.

History[]

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon[]

Footbrawl first appears in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, as a ScareScraper-exclusive boss. Like all bosses, Foobrawl is randomly fought on every fifth floor, barring the top floor.

Luigi's Mansion Arcade[]

Footbrawl returns in Luigi's Mansion Arcade. Like all Beetle Whisperer variants in the game, Footbrawl is now the same size as regular Slammers, have 25 HP, and cannot summon Beetles nor use paranormal shields upon being vacuumed up. Several of him may be found only in the Treacherous Mansion. They are usually encountered with other ghosts such as Strong Slammers and Hiders.
