Gem Goobs are a special variation of Goobs with a crystalline texture found in Luigi's Mansion 3. They will drop a Gemstone once defeated.

They have 80-120 HP. If Luigi finds one, they will behave very similar to Golden Goobs, in the fact that once discovered they will run in circles around Luigi, screaming in terror. The catch to defeating them is that they only take damage from being slammed, like Chambrea. Coincidentally, they first appear in 5F - RIP Suites, where she is fought.

Locations

• B2 - Boilerworks: This gem cannot be obtained until Luigi returns to the Boilerworks to rescue Toad and find the Super Suction upgrade. In the top-left of the lower area, Luigi must throw some buckets of paint on the wall to make a Gem Goob appear.
• 1F - Grand Lobby: In the section to the left of the main area, there is a couch missing. The player will have to use the Dark-Light Device to reveal the couch. Upon revealing the couch, a Gem Goob will appear. The player will have to defeat the Gem Goob to collect the gem.
• 2F - Mezzanine: Inside the restroom on the right, Luigi should open the cubicle on the right and vacuum the newspaper, causing a Gem Goob to appear.
• 4F - The Great Stage: In the restroom on the left, Luigi should use the Dark-Light Device to reveal a tap, and turning it on will cause a Gem Goob to appear.
• 5F - RIP Suites: Luigi must look into the telescope until a Gem Goob appears. Defeating it will release the gem.
• 8F - Paranormal Productions: Luigi should vacuum the scarf off the bicycle on the right, causing a Gem Goob to appear.
• 9F - Unnatural History Museum: In the bottom-right, Luigi must use either Toad or a bone rib to break the glass container, causing a Gem Goob to appear.
• 10F - Tomb Suites: Luigi should use the Suction Shot to break open a tomb nearest the right door to reveal a smaller one. Luigi should keep breaking these until a Gem Goob appears.
• 12F - The Spectral Catch: Obtained by shooting three coconuts at the mermaid statue on the left to make a Gem Goob appear.
• 13F - Fitness Center:
  • Luigi should use the Dark-Light Device to reveal a bell on the desk. Then, as he approaches the left door, the bell will ring in a certain pattern. Luigi should ring the bell in the same pattern to make a Gem Goob appear.
  • The radio must be set to Channel 3 by flashing it with the Strobulb three times. After doing so, two Golden Goobs and a Gem Goob will be revealed on the treadmills.
• 14F - The Dance Hall: Luigi and Gooigi should stand on the non-glowing platforms at the same time to uncover a socket for Super Suction. In the back room revealed with Super Suction, Luigi should flash the left hanging record with the Strobulb to make some stairs appear on both sides of the room. On the left upper layer, Luigi should use the Dark-Light Device to reveal a table, and making a Gem Goob appear.
