Ghost Guys, are ghosts that appear in Luigi's Mansion. They appear in a multitude of colors, wear eyeless Shy Guy masks, and are equipped with pitchforks resembling those carried by Beezos from Super Mario Bros. 2 and the non-Mario game Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic.
Ghost Guys pursue Luigi slowly, and are less persistent than other ghosts, stopping occasionally to change direction. When close enough, they will use their pitchfork as an attempt to hit Luigi, dealing 10 damage (or 20 in the Hidden Mansion). When Luigi uses the vacuum on them, the masks come off revealing two yellow eyes and a small black hole for a mouth that are actually set on the hoods that they wear. Removing their masks also allows them to be stunned with the Flashlight and vacuumed.
Red and green Ghost Guys wear plain white masks and will directly pursue Luigi, jabbing at him when close enough. There is also another behavior encountered withing Ghost Guys:
Dancing Ghost Guys[]
- "One of a pair of dancing Ghost Guys who attack as they twirl."
Dancing Ghost Guys, who are pink, purple, orange, yellow, white and wear red and white masks with drawn-on mustaches. They dance in pairs in a circular motion, with one occasionally swinging its spear in a circular motion for the other to duck under. If Luigi captures one in a pair, its partner will pursue him like the red and green types, except spinning instead of jabbing. They appear in the Ball Room and the Roof.
Abilities[]
Pitchfork: Ghost Guys can use their pitchforks to attack Luigi, dealing 10 HP of damage. (20 in the Hidden Mansion)
Dancing (Limited to Dancing Ghost Guys): Dancing Ghost Guys are good at dancing.
Invisibility: When not attacking, Ghost Guys can become invisible.
Scare: Like other ghosts, Ghost Guys can scare Luigi upon appearing, briefly halting his movements.
Trivia[]
- Other similar enemies are Boo Guys and Phantom Guys from other Mario games.
- There were also going to be blue and cyan versions in the final game but were removed for an unknown reason.
