Go-Bee (known as Grumble Bee in British English localizations) is a variant of the Creeper Launcher appearing in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moons ScareScraper, and later returning in Luigi's Mansion Arcade.
History[]
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon[]
Go-Bee first appears in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, as a ScareScraper-exclusive boss. Like all other bosses, Blimp Reaper may be randomly fought on every five floors, barring the top floor. As well as the small Creepers he creates, Go-Bee is also aided by either Hiders or Slammers (only Strong Hiders on Expert and Endless).
Luigi's Mansion Arcade[]
Go-Bee returns in Luigi's Mansion Arcade. Like all Creeper Launcher variants in the game, Go-Bee is now the same size as regular Gobbers, has 50 HP, and cannot produce small Creepers nor jump in the air and create a shockwave upon being vacuumed up. He may be found in the East Corridor of the Treacherous Mansion as the last wave of ghosts. He will be supported by three Dreadonflys and two Gold Greenies. After capturing them, Luigi can access the Terrace to fight King Boo.
Information[]
Physical description[]
Go-Bee is a large Gobber with three, large vivid yellow stripes on his belly, and honey around his eyes, making him based on a bumblebee.
Powers and abilities[]
Go-Bee has all of the powers and abilities as the Creeper Launcher, spits yellow goo, and purple goo that forms into small Creepers. He can also knock himself into any of the Luigis if one gets too close to him, and can jump in the air and create a shockwave if he is being vacuumed to make the Luigis lose their grip on him, and cannot be avoided by jumping.
Etymology[]
His American English name, Go-Bee seems to be a rough portmanteau of Gobber and bee. His British English name, Grumble Bee, is a more clear pun on bumblebee.
Profiles and statistics[]
- Ghost Container description
- "Incredible! This ghostly bee has glands that produce delicious spectral honey! Although, too much of the stuff will make your tongue numb. Take my word for it."
- "Instead of covering everything with goo, our stripey friend here prefers to splatter the walls and floors with honey. But be careful not to lick it! It'll make your tongue go numb."
Trivia[]
- Go-Bee is the only ghost that is part of the Bugs theme to use the same color pallette of the ghost type they are (which in this case, Gobbers), while the other ghosts use either similar or different color pallettes.
- However, in his icon, Go-Bee's body is colored dark brown.
- In his Ghost Container description, Go-Bee can produce honey. This is also supported by the British English description, where it says that Go-Bee "prefers to splatter the walls with delicious honey". However, in-battle, he can still produce yellow and purple goo.
