The Harsh Possessor is the second Possessor ghost fought by Luigi in the mission Tree Topping of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. He is the final boss of the Haunted Towers.
Physical description[]
The Harsh Possessor possesses is a fairly large, wooden staircase facing backwards. It has two floating strings which act like eyes, and those and the stairs are set on blue flames.
When out of the staircase, the Harsh Possessor is a tall, lean white ghost with two, ram-like horns.
Dark Moon Quest[]
As Luigi enters the Eerie Staircase, the possessor appears from the ground and jumps scares Luigi before heading to the top of the tree house. Luigi then has to find which staircase is the correct one. If he chooses right, he moves on to the next staircase. If he chooses wrong then he’ll slip and goes to the start and fights rather a Greenie, a Sneaker or a Slammer to boot. However, the staircases help Luigi thanks to the torches. The orange flames are the ones that Luigi has already climbed and the staircases without the flames or small are the correct ones and Luigi must get to them. The only problem is that the flames are limited for a short period of time. After battling ghosts and climbing the staircases, Luigi reaches the top and must pull a rope to get rid of a wall. Luigi then finds a tassel and after pulling it he finds a latter and climbs on it once that Luigi reaches the top he tries to climb a giant staircase, but the staircase then flings Luigi to the air roaring at him violently. The staircase then lunges at Luigi and Luigi must avoid it and its attacks. Once it’s at the air, Luigi must avoid its shadow in order to not be struck it the releases a tassel which Luigi must pull. Once out the harsh possessor then attacks Luigi 2 times instead of one Luigi then has to repeat this two more times and if Luigi does not get the possessor 5 times, it will possess the staircase again. Once the possessor is captured, Luigi gets a piece of the Dark Moon.
Powers and abilities[]
The Harsh Possessor has similar but more stronger abilities than the Grouchy Possessor, as well as new ones.
- Possession: The Harsh Possessor can possess nearby objects and gain new abilities. He uses this to possess a wooden staircase.
- Azur-Pyrokinesis: The Harsh Possessor has can generate and manipulate blue fire. He uses this to set the wooden staircase on blue flames, and shoot blue flames at Luigi.
- Lunge: While possessing the staircase, the Harsh Possessor's main attack is lunging at Luigi. This ability also gets progressively faster after each phase.
- Flight: After trying to lunge at Luigi three times, the Harsh Possessor will jump and fly into the air with great height. When he lands however, this causes him to expose a red rope which Luigi can pull to expose the Harsh Possessor out of the staircase. If Luigi takes too long however, the Harsh Possessor will regain conscious and the phase must be redone.
- Charge: When out of the staircase, the Harsh Possessor can surround himself in a purple barrier and charge at Luigi two times. However, this can be prevented if Luigi reacts quick enough to stun and capture him. If the Harsh Possessor is not caught after he charges around a set of five times, he will re-possess the staircase and the phase must be re-done.
