Hearts are an object used in the games of Luigi's Mansion that can be collected by Luigi to regain HP after the player has received some Damage. They will only do any effect if Luigi has less than the maximum HP.
Hearts also heal Gooigi, in the case of Luigi's Mansion 3DS and Luigi's Mansion 3, however, Gooigi will always have 50 HP as a limit, instead of 100 HP like Luigi.
Luigi's Mansion[]
In Luigi's Mansion, big hearts restore 50 HP when collected, medium hearts restore 20 HP, usually found inside random pots. Some furniture and ghosts when defeated will give 10 HP.
If Luigi catches a single ghost while vacuuming more than one at a time, the combo will reward the player with a 100% chance that it will drop a small heart.
All versions of Luigi's Mansion Gamecube will save health, and it will last until an area is finished.
Big Hearts Locations[]
- Nursery, in the dresser in the back right-hand corner.
- Graveyard, it is in the grave closest to the left torch.
- Safari Room, in the chest-like purse in the close right-hand corner.
- Cellar, in the shelf in the middle. This is the part that gives the player the most health recovery in the game, as it drops several medium and small hearts.
Luigi's Mansion Hidden Mansion (PAL)[]
In the PAL version, the vast majority of hearts become small, some furniture where large hearts used to be in the normal mansion, has a slight chance that nothing will come out. This makes the game more difficult, since the ghosts do more damage and are more numerous, making survival more difficult.
Big Hearts Locations[]
- Foyer, in the drawer cabinet (probability 10%).
- Courtyard, in the Slim Bankshot statue. It is the only big heart in the game that will always be in its place.
Luigi's Mansion Hidden Mansion (3DS)[]
In Luigi's Mansion 3DS, all the hearts on the furniture are removed, including the big hearts, and most are replaced by Poison Mushrooms, with the exception of the pillars in the fight with King Boo. The only way to get hearts, is by making a combo of more than one ghost in a single suction, the small hearts that dropped in the Gamecube versions, change to be medium.
Every time the player returns to Professor E. Gadd's Laboratory, Luigi's health will be restored, causing any damage taken to never be saved. It is also possible to heal with the Amiibos.
Amiibos[]
- Toad, make talking to Toad restore health.
- Mario, turns Poison Mushrooms into Red Mushrooms, which heal 25 HP unlike any heart.
- Luigi, get a chance to revive with Polterpup when he runs out of health / Furniture hiding a Speedy Spirit will light up.
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon[]
