The Kitchen Portrait Ghost, also known as the Chef Ghost, is an unused enemy from the first Luigi's Mansion game. Their existence was brought to light through a screenshot of the game in its beta stage.
Description[]
The Kitchen Portrait Ghost appears to be a small pink ghost with a white chef's hat on his head. Like many other beta ghosts, he appears to have a circular nose that extends from his head. Above his nose appears to be two black whiskers most likely meant to be his mustache. He grins with his mouth wide open where his tongue is visible. His arms are small fingerless nubs that are situated on either side of his body. There also appears to be something light green underneath his body.
This ghost would have been fought in the kitchen and may have replaced some elements of the kitchen that made it into the final game. In the game's beta version, he was seen throwing tomatoes at Luigi.
Trivia[]
- The tomato the ghost is holding is still left in the games files as the unused model, Tomato.szp.
- The Luigi's Mansion series would go on to implement another chef-based ghost in Luigi's Mansion 3 known as Chef Soulfflé. Like the Kitchen Portrait Ghost, Chef Soulfflé would be fought in a kitchen area.
