The Overset Possessor is the third Possessor fought by Luigi in the mission Showtime of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. He holds the fourth Dark Moon piece.
Dark Moon Quest
In Luigi's quest in the Old Clockworks, in the Clockworks Court, if Luigi looks through the telescope, he can see the Overset Possessor at the top of the clock tower in all missions except Piece at Last, Showtime and Outlandish Interruption. In A Timely Entrance, the Overset Possessor, will peak out of the clock, then come out, and float around the clock tower and dive into the top of the tower. In the next three missions, the Overset Possessor will either make a full rotation two times around the tower whilst laughing, or peek out of the clock and dive back in after a few seconds.
In Showtime, Luigi gets shot up to the top of the Belfry in his attempt to get the Dark Moon piece, and the Possessor will frighten him, and possess the giant clock face. As the clock hands spin around, the numbers will seemingly get removed one after another.
Battle
The gimmick of the battle is fighting 12 waves of ghosts and other enemies. In each wave, Luigi has 60 seconds to capture all of the ghosts or destroy other enemies, or else that round will have to be restarted. However, Luigi can adjust the clock hands by using the Poltergust 5000. Pressing L near the hand speeds it up, and pressing R with reverse it. After every four waves, the cuckoo bird will knock the Overset Possessor out of the tower, and will attempt to charge at Luigi four times, while also occasionally cutting of his corners. In waves 5-8, the Overset Possessor fills the clock face with sand, and in the final waves (9-12), both clock hands are set on fire. Once the Overset Possessor is captured, Luigi can collect the fourth Dark Moon piece.
The hour's respective ghosts are recorded here:

Aftermath
Upon capturing the Overset Possessor and collecting the fourth Dark Moon piece, he is sent to the Ghost Container and E. Gadd and Luigi open the path towards the Secret Mine. After Luigi defeats King Boo once again, he and the Toads restore the Dark Moon to its original condition, returning all of the ghosts in Evershade Valley back to their peaceful selves. The Overset Possessor is freed from the Ghost Container, though is never seen in the ending or credits.
Information
Physical description
The clock the Overset Possessor possesses is a large cuckoo clock, with the large stone clock face as the floor, with the cuckoo chamber is above it. The clock face also has minute and hour hands, and spin around to hurt Luigi.
When not possessing the clock, the Overset Possessor is a large, white ghost, with orange and red layers respectively. He has three horns, two that are ram-like in the back and one pointed in the middle, which the singular horn heavily resembles the one used on the Grouchy Possessor, and later on, the Tough Possessor.
Powers and abilities
Abilities
- Possession: Like all other Possessors, the Overset Possessor can possess objects and gain new abilities. He uses this ability to possess the Belfry Clock.
- Charge: Just like all Possessors, the Overset Possessor can generate a purple barrier around himself and uses it to charge at Luigi four times with great speed.
Powers
- Chronomentrokinesis: Even when not directly possessing the clock, the Overset Possessor can manipulate and control it. Said control is amplified when he possesses it. He can to slow down, pause or speed up the clock hands, and slowly spin the clock face when he is out of the cuckcoo clock.
- Ghost Summoning: When possessing the clock, the Overset Possessor can summon different types of ghosts to aid him in protecting his Dark Moon piece from Luigi.
- Pyrokinesis: When possessing the clock, the Overset Possessor can use pyrokinesis. He uses this to set the clock hands on red flames (indicated with a fiery red hue), just like how the Harsh Possessor uses this ability to set the stairs he is possessing on blue flames.
- Psammokinesis: During the fifth and eighth hours, the Overset Possessor can summon sand around the clock face, making it harder for Luigi to navigate around. This wasn't a smart move for the sixth hour, though, as invisible Sneakers would have their trail revealed on the sand.

Trivia
- The Overset Possessor is the only Possessor;
- That is seen in every mission in their respective mansion (except Piece at Last because the Clockworks Court cannot be accessed, and Outlandish Interruption because the Overset Possessor was captured in Showtime).
- That makes an appearance in one of the Toad's security images (this excludes the Grouchy Possessor).
- That does not drop any money upon being captured, regardless of what Power Surge is used.
- That when taking off a suit, the Overset Possessor escapes in any direction, whereas other Possessors escape either through the left or right directions.
- That can charge an infinite amount of times. This can happen before Overset Possessor gets a chance to re-possess the clock in each phase, vacuums it, then lets go, the Overset Possessor will always charge around four more times before returning to the clock, so this can be repeated many times.
- Whose battle location (Belfry Clock) returns in Luigi's Mansion Arcade (excluding the Harsh and Shrewd Possessors due to their respective locations (the Haunted Towers and Secret Mine) not being present in said game). In said game, it is used for the fight against The Three Sisters.
- The "Catching Overset Possessor" theme is re-used from the Grouchy Possessor.
- Before being vacuumed, the Overset Possessor makes a small clip that a Greenie makes while one is about to be vacuumed.
- He is also the heaviest Possessor in the game, as well as the second heaviest ghost encountered in the Dark Moon Quest, behind Sister Herlinda.
- The Overset Possessor has a similar strategy to Ado from the Kirby series, as they summon minions. However, the Possessor is exposed to attack three times, whereas Ado's paintings have to be destroyed in their entirety during battle before she can be attacked and she is defeated in one go.
- He is also similar to Adeleine from the same series, as she has the same strategy.
