Possessed Treasure Chests, also known as Cursed Treasure Chests, are a type enemy that can be encountered in Luigi's Mansion 3. They are Treasure Chests brought to life by Purple Spirit Balls.
It can be found on 11F - Twisted Suites, B2 - Boilerworks, and 12F - The Spectral Catch.
If Luigi comes near them and tries to open them, they will reveal themselves and attempt to eat Luigi. The Possessed Treasure Chest appears to look like a regular treasure chest except with glowing eyes at the top of its lid. They will begin attacking by using their mouth as a black-hole like portal that sucks Luigi towards them. It will then try and get Luigi into it's mouth, and if it does, Luigi must try and escape using the A button.
In order to be defeated, Luigi must first suck something into the Poltergust G-00 and then fire it at the chest. After doing so, the chest will be put into a daze. While dazed, Luigi will have to shine the Dark-Light Device on it in order to make the Purple Spirit orbs come out of it. Once he sucks all of them up, the chest will return to normal and will appear to have been opened.
It is not possible to encounter the Possessed Treasure Chest in ScareScraper mode.

- Unlike the Possessed Garbage Bin, the Possessed Treasure Chest is unable to move, and must rely on its portal attack in order to harm Luigi.
