The Purple Bomber is a variant of Ceiling Surprises that Luigi encounters in Luigi's Mansion.
Purple Bombers usually haunt the corridors instead of the rooms, and are usually found along with Bowling Ghosts and Ceiling Surprises. Even if the player wards them off with the Poltergust 3000 or an element, they eventually return. They are gone when an area is finished.
They hide on the ceiling, and lowers down to scare Luigi when he's looking away, dropping a bomb at the same time. Luigi can extinguish their bombs by spraying water on them before they explode, and spraying fire on them will make them explode immediately. They are one the weakest ghosts in the game as they have zero HP.
Two of them are encountered in the Safari Room, Armory, and one in the Sealed Room. In the PAL / 3DS Hidden Mansion, two are encountered in the Pipe Room.
Three Purple Bombers (six in the PAL / 3DS Hidden Mansion) are fought as the last wave of ghosts Vincent Van Gore sends at Luigi.
