Strong Sneakers are a stronger variant of Sneakers in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.
Information
Physical description
Strong Sneakers resemble regular Sneakers, but their bodies are a darker shade of pink, due to their hot-pink cracked-like marks all over their bodies, as a result of being empowered by the crystals from the Secret Mine.
Powers and abilities
Strong Sneakers have 100 HP, though some in a few missions may have only 50. They have the same abilities as regular Sneakers, being able to scare Luigi, disrupting him from vacuuming other ghosts, shove Luigi, dealing 20 damage if successful, and can use Toads (if present) as shields against Luigi's Strobulb.
Strategy
The strategy to defeat Strong Sneakers is slightly different with regular Sneakers. When they appear, capture them immediately when possible. They may be usually encountered with Greenies or Strong Greenies. Rather than capturing the different variations of Greenies first, it's always best to capture the Strong Sneakers first. Ones that have 100 HP, a Level 2 Power Surge, followed by a Level 3 can easily deplete their health, but try to lower their HP to around 53 to collect Gold Bars. Ones that have 50 HP, one Level 3 Power Surge is enough to defeat them. Also, remember to use the Dark-Light Device to detect them when invisible.
Dark Moon Quest
Between "Tree Topping" and "A Timely Entrance"
Before Luigi travels to the Old Clockworks, a Sneaker strengthened by Boos by extracting crystals from the Secret Mine. This Strong Sneaker was sent to the Old Clockworks to steal the rotor to open the Clock Tower Gate.
Old Clockworks
The first one is encountered during the events of mission Piece at Last in the Old Clockworks, being the first stronger ghost in the game, and the ghost guarding the last piece that Luigi needs in order to reactivate the Clock Tower Gate. After Luigi saves the yellow Toad assistant and heads to the Gear Chamber, the Strong Sneaker appears and scares the duo, intiating a mini-boss fight against him and his army of several different variations of Greenies. There are four waves of Greenies fought. The first wave has three regular Greenies, the second wave has three Shovel Greenies, the third wave is three Greenies again, but with green and red paranormal shields. The fourth and final wave has Greenies disguised as Mummies. During this wave, the Strong Sneaker is able to be captured.
Secret Mine
In the "Secret Mine", in mission Hit Rock Bottom, one Sneaker, along with a Slammer and a Greenie trapped in red crystals transform into their stronger variants.
In "Severe Infestation", Strong Sneakers have a high chance of appearing if the Terminal and Drift Hall are selected.
Treacherous Mansion
Strong Sneakers are found throughout most missions in the Treacherous Mansion, except for "Ambush Maneuver" and "Stop the Knightmare".
In "Double Trouble", when Luigi comes into the Grand East hall with the green Toad assistant, they both get ambushed by two Strong Sneakers. Later, when he shoots the green and purple Toad assistants, into the cages of the large gargoyle statues in order to access the Pixelator Screen, the mission's Boo, Boopa Troopa stops them, aided by three Strong Sneakers.
In "A Train to Catch", after Luigi retrieves the yellow book stolen from the Strong Poltergeist and enters the Train Exhibit, he is greeted by a Strong Sneaker and two Strong Hiders, which need to be captured in order to progress.
In "Paranormal Chaos", 3-4 Strong Sneakers are found in the Ice Age Exhibit, which are necessary to complete the mission. 2 Strong Sneakers also appear on the Terrace, with each one paired with a Strong Slammer and a Strong Greenie.
In "Terrifying Invasion", Strong Sneakers have a chance of appearing in the Dark Age Exhibit, Restrooms and the West Corridor, though Strong Sneakers have a higher chance of appearing in the Restroom.
ScareScraper
In the ScareScraper, Strong Sneakers only appear in Endless or Expert ScareScrapers. Strong Sneakers usually appear with two Greenies with helmets and two Creepers, or with two Greenies with spiked plants and other Sneakers or Strong Sneakers. When the Primordial Goo or its variations are fought, Strong Sneakers and normal Sneakers will assist them, with the former replacing Slammers.
