Trappers are ghosts in Luigi's Mansion 3. They are orange ghosts with two blue tongues. Trappers wait in front of doors or against the wall in narrow hallways while invisible. It appears for the first time in floor 7F - Garden Suites, when Luigi is chasing Polterkitty.
If Luigi comes near a Trapper, they will reveal themselves and roar, and with one of their tongues reach under his bottom, and begin spanking him on the bottom repeatedly with the other tongue, dealing 5 HP of damage each time until stunned by Gooigi. While doing this, they'll laugh and shake their hand. If you stay for too long, they will lift you up and smash you to the floor dealing more damage.
To prevent Luigi from taking damage, the player must call out Gooigi and flash it with the Strobulb. Both Luigi and Gooigi must then pull on its tongues together and slam it to defeat it. Since it takes a single, two-person slam to defeat it, it could be said that the Trapper has 40 HP, although it doesn't have an in-game health meter like other normal ghosts do. Slamming other ghosts into a Trapper will deal no damage to the Trapper.
Luigi can also reveal the Trapper with the Dark-Light Device, allowing him to defeat them without having them grab him. If Gooigi bursts next to a Trapper that is attacking Luigi, it will drop Luigi and return to its invisible state again. Trappers also bend light behind them.
If there is a Trapper in a hallway that, if not sucked up after being flashed by the Strobulb, or after finishing its attack, will become invisible and move to a different spot in that room.
Trappers do not make an appearance within the ScareScraper or ScreamPark.
Trivia[]
