Yukata Ball (known as Spectral Sloth in British English localizations) is a variant of the Creeper Launcher appearing in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moons ScareScraper, and later returning in Luigi's Mansion Arcade.
History[]
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon[]
Yukata Ball first appears in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, as a ScareScraper-exclusive boss. Like all other bosses, Yukata Ball may be randomly fought on every five floors, barring the top floor. As well as the small Creepers he creates, Yukata Ball is also aided by Hiders and Slammers (only Strong Hiders on Expert and Endless).
Luigi's Mansion Arcade[]
Yukata Ball returns in Luigi's Mansion Arcade. Like all Creeper Launcher variants in the game, Yukata Ball is now the same size as regular Gobbers, has 50 HP, and cannot produce small Creepers nor jump in the air and create a shockwave upon being vacuumed up.
He may be found in the East Corridor of the Treacherous Mansion as the last wave of ghosts. He will be supported by three Fright Knights and two Gold Greenies. After capturing them, Luigi can access the Terrace to fight King Boo.
Information[]
Physical description[]
Yukata Ball is a large Gobber wearing a dark purple yukata, with a bright blue tie and lavender colored spots.
Powers and abilities[]
Yukata Ball has all of the powers and abilities as the Creeper Launcher, spits yellow goo, and purple goo that forms into small Creepers. He can also knock himself into any of the Luigis if one gets too close to him, and can jump in the air and create a shockwave if he is being vacuumed to make the Luigis lose their grip on him, and cannot be avoided by jumping.
Etymology[]
The American English name, Yukata Ball, uses the namesake, yukata, and ball, referring to the Gobber's overweight size. The British English name, Spectral Sloth, refer to the facts that Gobbers are ghosts that are slow like sloths.
